Noise and confrontation erupted during today’s Parliament’s plenary session when Justice Minister Rati Bregadze discussed the Strasbourg court’s decision on ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili.
The MP from the United National Movement, Tina Bokuchava, accused Bregadze of lying.
Georgian Dream’s MP Levan Mgaloblishvili made an offensive remark at Bokuchava, leading to further tensions. Bokuchava appealed to the session’s speaker, Gia Volski, to request Mgaloblishvili to leave the hall. Subsequently, UNM members Bokuchava and Ana Tsitlidze approached Mgaloblishvili’s table and threw papers in his direction.
When Mgaloblishvili attempted to throw the microphone at Ana Tsitlidze, the security personnel intervened, resulting in a technical break.
The Georgian Dream MPs escorted Mgaloblishvili out of the session hall.
