Tbilisi City Hall announces that the Hotel Budapest would not be built in Vake Park in the Georgian capital. Municipal officials held a meeting with the investor company on Monday.
“The only correct option is the land plot replacement. In the case of consent, the company will get municipal-owned land of the same value”, Tbilisi Vice Mayor, Irakli Khmaladze, stated after the meeting.
The construction company has deployed heavy machinery at its land plot in Vake Park and attempted launching the pre-construction works on Monday. Representatives of the municipal inspection arrived at the site and halted operations. Tbilisi City Hall says that the investor does not have permission for construction.
