Georgian tennis player Nikoloz Basilashvili will face Rafael Nadal in the 1/8 final of the 2018 tennis US Open.

World number one Nadal, who is also the champion of the tournament, has played against Russian Karen Khachanov and defeated him in four and a half hours – 5: 7, 7: 6 (7), 7: 6 (3).

Nadal and Basilashvili have met just once previously. The match took place last year at the French Open. Nadal won a match – 0:6, 1:6, 0:6.
