Nika Melia: One of politicians called me bribed, compromised person from Ivanishvili, I cannot stand next to such people
“One of the politicians called me a bribed and compromised person from Ivanishvili. I cannot stand next to such people,” Nika Melia, a member of the Coalition For Changes, said at a court hearing.
According to Melia, although he has “a lot to say with concrete facts,” he is choosing to refrain for the time being.
“I want to briefly say how I see a way out of this swamp. There will always remain an internal protest that will speak out at the right moment. Thinking about party interests today is not only immoral, but it is also backwards. I even thought a lot in prison about banning parties — you may be surprised — and my position is paradoxical. I would agree with this nonsense because I am sure that real, genuine politics would begin from scratch. Politicians must be allowed to swim freely. We must rediscover ourselves among the people. Unfortunately, many are detached from society for many reasons. Party politics today is the least important,” Melia said.
He added that repression by the authorities is aimed at breaking public faith.
“I call on everyone for whom my position matters to come out in large numbers on November 28. Unfortunately, many people have lost faith, but we must call out to each other — history forbids defeat. We need long-term planning to achieve short-term victory.
One of the politicians called me a bribed and compromised person from Ivanishvili. I cannot be in the same space with such people. I have a lot to say with concrete facts, and I am holding back. They will bring my words to him and a few of his associates — and I am glad that the absolute majority did not share his position. You will not see me even on one hectare next to such an accuser,” he added.
