“No opposition politician should enter or will enter the parliament. People need a strong document as confirmation that we are not going to take up MP mandates,” said Nika Melia, the leader of the Coalition for Changes.
According to Nika Melia, the parliament does not reflect the Georgian people’s interests.
“This will not be the Georgian parliament and therefore, no opposition politician, who won the MP mandate should enter or will enter the parliament. This is significant since this parliament does not reflect the Georgian people’s interests.
However, the Georgian people like concretism. Probably, before the Georgian people, due to various activities, we may not be represented in the best form in terms of reputation. Therefore, the Georgian people need a strong document confirming our intention to enter the parliament.
We believe that when the specific day comes, we will stand together and alongside the Georgian people we will say that nobody will enter the parliament, which we have nothing to do with. This is significant in a short-term perspective and we must do that in the coming weeks,” Melia stated.
