Nika Melia emphasizes importance of mental victory for lasting change
“Tbilisi should be filled with people—every street, square, and avenue should resonate with our presence. However, true victory must first be achieved in our mindsets to prevent the loss of self-confidence,” said Nika Melia, leader of the Coalition for Change, during a statement at the Tbilisi Court of Appeals.
Melia asserted that rallies should become a regular occurrence, as the ruling Georgian Dream party’s only strategy is “to exhaust the public’s resolve.”
“We have made a promise to one another; this is not merely a political goal but a human and moral obligation. We cannot allow our children to grow up under Ivanishvili’s government, as it represents a path of degradation that should be avoided by even their children. Therefore, with your support, we, the winning political forces, must reclaim our victory. We are not defeated; we are victorious. We should remind each other of this every day, but most importantly, we must win this battle in our minds to maintain our self-confidence,” Melia stated.
The Tbilisi Court of Appeals is currently reviewing lawsuits related to election fraud from the October 26 elections. Opposition politicians, along with representatives from NGOs and civil society, are rallying outside the court building.
