Candidates for UNM Chairman nominated

Nika Melia and Levan Varshalomidze have been nominated as candidates for the post of chairman of the United National Movement. The candidates have been revealed through a secret ballot at today’s meeting of the Political Council.

The election of the chairman of the National Movement party will take place at the party congress.

“A congress will be held at the end of the month, where the new chairman of the National Movement will be approved. Tens of thousands of our supporters, party members, will take part in the election and it will be electronic voting. Today at the Political Council meeting, two candidates were finally identified. These are Nika Melia and Levan Varshalomidze”- Zaal Udumashvili, one of the leaders of the party, said.

The Charman of the United National Movement Grigol Vashadze resigned from his post on December 15.
