Nika Gvaramia: We are not going to sit at negotiation table to gain freedom for political prisoners; this is their right, which they already have
“The issue of political prisoners should be raised beyond political preferences,” said Nika Gvaramia, one of the leaders of the Opposition Alliance.
According to Nika Gvaramia, Georgia has no EU perspective until Bidzina Ivanishvili and his regime remain in power. He believes that there are many people besides politicians in jail who are not politicians.
“Therefore, the issue of political prisoners does not require any revision, any bargaining, any additional assessments. It is not correct to divide them into separate groups either. We have many political prisoners, and the issue of political prisoners should be raised beyond political preferences.
I would tell the illegitimate government once again that we are not going to bargain with political prisoners and sit at a negotiation table to gain freedom for them. This is their right, which they already have. And they should receive what they already have, without any negotiations,” Gvaramia said.
