Population aged 55 and above to join Covid-19 vaccination soon

Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia unveiled the next target group for the Covid-19 vaccination on Wednesday.

“If the vaccination rates are lower, Georgian citizens aged 55 and over will be able to sign up for vaccine appointments. We cannot have the COVID-19 vaccines unutilized,” Gabunia noted.

Deputy Health Minister added that Georgia has a real chance to use the vaccines actively.

“100 doses for celebrities of any age group will likely be allocated. It needs good planning and community involvement,” Gabunia said.

Citizens can register on booking.moh.gov.ge or call the hotline 15 22.

The Covid-19 vaccination process for persons aged 65 years and over will start on March 25.

Georgia received the first batch of 43,200 doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine on March 13. The country will secure 29,250 doses of the Pfizer vaccine today.
