Next generation grows up on history of Shindisi heroes, Speaker says
Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili Thursday said, “our future generation is growing up on the history of the Shindisi heroes.”
“Our future generation grows up on the history of the Shindisi heroes. Their love and sacrifice for their motherland is the strength of our country’s unification. I bow before them. Glory and eternal memory to the heroes,” Papuashvili said in commemoration of the 14th anniversary of the Shindisi Battle.
Georgia is commemorating today a group of soldiers who lost their lives during the Russia-Georgia 2008 war in a battle in Shindisi village.
The 17 heroes who were killed are as follows: Aleksandre Oniani, Emzar Tsilosani, Vepkhia Jishkariani, Zviad Katsadze, Teimuraz Beridze, Ilia Gabunia, Ilia Sheklashvili, Irakli Janelidze, Kakha Koshadze, Levan Mikeladze, Marlen Baramia, Mikheil Dvalishvili, Nikoloz Porchkhidze, Roman Zoidze, Ruslan Tsuladze, Peliks Kakauridze and Shmagi Kupatadze.
