New Year’s Eve illumination installation to restrict Rustaveli Avenue traffic

Vehicle traffic on Rustaveli Avenue in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi will be restricted on December 12-13, from 00:00 to 06:00, due to the installation of New Year’s Eve illuminations.

According to the Tbilisi City Hall, the restrictions will apply between the First Republic Square and Freedom Square.

Drivers will be redirected to Leonidze, Ingorokva, Aleksandre Chavchavadze, and Griboedovi streets, as well as Baratashvili and Tabukashvili streets. Drivers heading from Melikishvili Street to the rest of Mtatsminda district streets will be diverted to Janashia, Tarkhnishvili, Tatishvili, Chovelidze, and Zandukeli streets, and then to Barnovi, Gogebashvili, and Dzmebi Kakabadzeebi streets.

Automobiles can use Griboedovi, Makashvili, Barnovi, and Shanidze streets to get to Melikishvili Street in the vicinity of the Rustaveli metro station. Only traffic heading towards Rustaveli Avenue will be limited on Freedom Square.

Those heading to Freedom Square from the Rustaveli metro station adjacent area will be redirected to Javakhishvili Street and the right bank of River Mtkvari.
