New U.S. Ambassador arrived in Georgia
New U.S. Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan has arrived in Georgia – The U.S. Embassy in Georgia wrote in the social network.
The Embassy says that it is looking forward to joint work for enhancement of partnership between the U.S. and Georgia.
“U.S. Embassy Tbilisi is very pleased to announce the arrival of Ambassador Kelly Degnan at Tbilisi International Airport. Welcome to Georgia, Madame Ambassador! We look forward to the work we will do together to strengthen the partnership between the United States and Georgia,” reads the post.
Kelly Degnan was sworn in as the new U.S. Ambassador to Georgia at the U.S. Department of State on January 17.
At the swearing-in ceremony, Degnan said that she felt “particularly honored to be selected as the U.S. Ambassador to Georgia, a country that shares America’s love of freedom and democracy.”
The White House presented the candidacy of Kelly Degnan for post of U.S. Ambassador to Georgia in September of 2019. The Senate approved Degnan’s candidacy in December.
