New project to enhance patenting initiated in Georgia

Within the joint project of Sakpatenti and the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property, a three-day training for experts from the Invention and New Varieties Department has been opened.

The training held in Mtskheti from November 14-16 focuses on the search for freedom of operation (FTO) in information and communication technologies.

FTO involves studying the risk of infringing third-party patents during the commercial use of a product or technology.

A Swiss expert will share his experience with Georgian colleagues to enhance Sakpatent’s capabilities in providing quality services.

GESIP is a joint project of Sakpatenti and the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property, funded by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of the Swiss Confederation (SECO).
