New military base to be built in Mukhrovani

A new military base for Special Squads will be built in Mukhrovani village, Georgia’s eastern Kakheti region.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze, and Colonel Teimuraz Klateishvili, Head of the Special Operations Forces, placed the capsule in the foundation on Tuesday.

The main building, canteen, hospital, and other amenities, as well as sports and leisure areas, will be arranged. The construction will take two years to complete.

The project meeting NATO requirements will cost GEL 70 million.
