New Interior Minister Geladze expresses honour in serving Georgia

“It is a profound honour to lead the Ministry of Internal Affairs alongside dedicated police officers and ministry staff, united in our commitment to serve the country and its people,” declared Gela Geladze, the nominee for Minister of Internal Affairs, during a briefing at the Government Administration, presented by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

“I wish to thank Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze for his confidence and the entire Georgian Dream team for their support. I also want to extend my respectful appreciation to Mr Vakhtang Gomelauri, whose significant contributions have greatly advanced the reforms of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in recent years. It is a great privilege to assume this responsibility and work together with honourable officers and staff to serve our nation.

I am deeply grateful to the Prime Minister for entrusting me with this vital role,” Geladze expressed his gratitude.

Today, Vakhtang Gomelauri, Georgia’s Minister of Internal Affairs and Vice Prime Minister, announced his resignation.
