NEA issues alert on weather for August 15-18

Heavy rains will persist across most of Georgia from the afternoon of August 15 through the afternoon of August 18, the National Environment Agency (NEA) reported.

According to the NEA, intermittent rain or heavy rain is in the weather forecast in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Kakheti, Kvemo Kartli regions and Tbilisi, with possible thunderstorms, hailstorms and strong winds on August 16-18 in west Georgia.

“Heavy precipitation may cause swelling of small rivers and formation and activation of landsliding processes (threat level: medium),” the NEA said.
