NEA issues alert about weather for March 15-16

The National Environment Agency (NEA) has issued an alert about the weather conditions for March 15-16 in Georgia.

According to the NEA, strong winds are forecast across the Kolkheti plateau and Zemo Imereti territory, occasionally with a speed of 25-28 m/s.

“On March 16, precipitation is expected in most parts of the country, in high-mountainous areas – snow, in some places heavy, fog, blizzards and avalanche threats. Due to heavy snowfall, poor visibility and avalanche threats, restrictions may be imposed on certain roads.

Heavy rains may cause swelling of rivers and formation-activation of land sliding processes (threat level-medium),” the NEA said.
