NBG's Acting President sees Georgia's potential to develop as Fintech Regional Hub in Middle Corridor

Natia Turnava, Acting President of the National Bank of Georgia, participated in the world’s largest fintech festival in Singapore, introducing the achievements of Georgia’s financial technology industry to a global audience.

For the first time, Georgia’s National Bank had its exhibition space at the Singapore fintech festival, presenting the Bank of Georgia and the Georgian fintech startup Fave alongside NBG as a co-participant.

Georgia’s main message at the Festival was Financial Technologies and the Impetus for Middle Corridor Development.

According to Natia Turnava, Georgia has all the prerequisites to develop as a fintech regional hub in the Middle Corridor.

“Georgia is already a hub in various sectors, and we have the ambition to become a fintech hub. All the prerequisites exist for this. The next step will be the development of the fintech industry in the country and offering the best conditions to global investors interested in this field,” NBG’s Acting President stated.

The Singapore FinTech Festival, held annually, is the world’s largest fintech exhibition, hosted at Singapore EXPO, the country’s largest conference and exhibition space. More than 60 thousand participants from 140 countries attended the event this year.
