NBG warns customers of new swindling scams involving special programs like Any Desk
The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) has warned that scammers are using various techniques, such as advertising and social engineering, to prompt customers to install an application that promises cashback or profits. Once installed, the scammers can gain control of the customers’ mobile banking systems and electronic devices, putting their sensitive information at risk.
The NBG has reported several instances where fraudsters have been able to activate loans and transfer funds to various accounts.
“The National Bank of Georgia advises their customers to exercise caution when sharing personal and financial data online and to verify the trustworthiness of companies before making any transactions. If any questions, contact the NBG’s hotline (+995) 032 2406406),” the bank said.
