NBG: Volume of money transfers from abroad rose by 13.7% in February

In February 2022, the volume of money transfers from abroad constituted USD 183.4 million (GEL 551.7 million), or 13.7% (USD 22 million) more than the amount in February 2021.

According to the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), 93.1 per cent of the total money transfers from abroad came from the nineteen largest partner countries, with the volume of transfers from these countries each exceeding 1 million USD. In February 2021, the share of these 19 countries constituted 94.6 per cent of the total volume of money transfers.

In February 2022, USD 26.7 million (or GEL 80.4 million), or 27.5% more than  in February 2021, was transferred from Georgia.
