NBG: Volume of remittances rose by 20% in April

In April 2023, the volume of money transfers from abroad constituted 369.7 million USD (933.3 million GEL) , which is 20.0% (61.6 million USD) more than the amount in April 2022, the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported on Monday.

According to NBG, 97.2% of the total money transfers from abroad came from 23 largest partner countries, with the volume of transfers from these countries each exceeding 1 million USD in April 2023. In April 2022 the share of these 23 countries constituted 97.0% of the total volume of money transfers.

In April 2023, 28.4 million USD (or 71.8 million GEL) was transferred from Georgia, which is 12.0% more as compared to 25.4 million USD in April 2022.
