NBG Governor: Visit of Georgian delegation to U.S. was highly productive

Governor of the National Bank of Georgia Natia Turnava described the visit and meetings of the Georgian delegation to the United States, held within the framework of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, as “very productive.”

According to Turnava, the delegation had an intensive agenda and held a series of high-level meetings and discussions throughout the week.

“We had discussions on current and future cooperation. We expect IMF missions to visit Georgia in the near future, including the Article IV review, which provides a comprehensive assessment of our economic outlook. After the previous review, Georgia received a very positive evaluation, highlighting our economic growth, resilience to external shocks, and the effectiveness of our monetary policy. We are confident that the upcoming review will deliver similarly positive results,” Turnava said.

She added that Georgia continues to receive technical assistance from the IMF and has requested an expansion of this cooperation, which was met with a positive response.
