Turnava highlighted that the Nasdaq Calypso initiative exemplifies the National Bank’s commitment to creating a strong and transparent financial market aligned with international best practice to support Georgia’s economic expansion.

“By transitioning five of Georgia’s leading commercial banks onto a unified, internationally recognised platform, we are driving up standards in risk management, regulatory oversight, and operational resilience across the entire sector,” Turnava stated.

“This initiative reflects our drive to build a robust and transparent financial market that fully aligns with global best practice and underpins Georgia’s economic growth,” the NBG Governor added.

The Governor further stressed that modernising Georgia’s treasury infrastructure remains a strategic priority for the National Bank of Georgia and represents a major milestone in advancing the country’s financial system.

She added that, with the Central Bank’s backing, the shared platform will deliver the reliable, world-class infrastructure needed to power the future growth of the banking industry.

According to the National Bank, the shared Nasdaq Calypso platform is being implemented with the support of the National Bank of Georgia and under the auspices of the Georgian Financial Markets Treasury Association (GFMTA).

Under the scheme, five major Georgian commercial banks, Bank of Georgia, TBC Bank, Liberty Bank, TeraBank, and BasisBank, will transform their treasury operations using the unified, globally accredited Nasdaq Calypso system.
