NBG Governor Meets Ambassador of Türkiye
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) Governor Natia Turnava held an introductory meeting with Turkey’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia, Mustafa Türker Arı.
According to the NBG, the parties discussed current issues related to economic cooperation between Georgia and Turkey, opportunities to deepen partnership in the financial sector, and prospects for future cooperation.
Turnava briefed the ambassador on the state of Georgia’s economy, the country’s macroeconomic environment, and the National Bank’s monetary policy. She also highlighted the importance of maintaining economic stability and ensuring the resilience of Georgia’s financial sector.
The meeting noted that Turkish banks operate successfully in Georgia’s banking sector, contributing to the further expansion of bilateral economic and trade relations.
The sides also discussed the active cooperation between the National Bank of Georgia and the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye, which focuses on sharing expertise and strengthening institutional ties, as well as potential future joint projects.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to further deepen cooperation in the financial sector between Georgia and Turkey.
