NBG: Georgia generates USD 1,101.8m in Q2 travel revenue

According to data released by the National Bank of Georgia, the country generated USD 1,101.8 million in revenue from international travel during the second quarter of 2026, marking a 3.8% decline compared to the same period last year. The Bank further noted that total travel revenues for the first two quarters of the year combined reached USD 1,931.7 million.

“In the second quarter of 2026, the share of European Union countries in international travel revenue stood at 17.7%, amounting to USD 194.9 million, a 12.1% increase compared to the same period last year,” the National Bank of Georgia stated.

According to the statistics, revenues from Azerbaijan, Ukraine, and Armenia saw upward trends, growing year-on-year by 10.3%, 49.8%, and 5.6% to reach USD 59.5 million, USD 53.7 million, and USD 39.9 million, respectively.

Conversely, against the backdrop of the ongoing war in the Middle East, travel revenues from Israel and Iran fell year-on-year by 3.0% and 65.1%, dropping to USD 123.8 million and USD 10.2 million, respectively.
