NATO JFTC Commander visits Georgia

Major General Bogdan Rycerski, Commander of NATO’s Joint Force Training Centre (JFTC), has concluded a working visit to Georgia.

According to the Ministry of Defence, Major General Rycerski met with the Deputy Commander of the Georgian Defence Forces, Major General Irakli Chichinadze, during his stay.

“The two sides discussed the operational capabilities of the Georgian Defence Forces and the prospects for expanding future cooperation.

The JFTC Commander was hosted by the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Centre (JTEC). During his visit to Krtsanisi, JTEC Commander Colonel Davit Gagua delivered an information briefing detailing the centre’s history, core objectives, ongoing projects, and strategic plans. The meeting underscored the longstanding, fruitful partnership between the two training facilities and highlighted JFTC’s crucial support in driving JTEC’s development,” the Ministry stated.

Following the briefing, a farewell ceremony was held for the Head of the NATO Advisory Group, Lieutenant Colonel Per Ivar Pedersen, and Command Sergeant Major Jakob Jensen.

“Deputy Commander Major General Irakli Chichinadze, together with the leaders of JTEC and JFTC, expressed their sincere gratitude to the outgoing members of the NATO Advisory Group for their substantial contributions to deepening military ties between Georgia and NATO, presenting them with commemorative gifts.

As part of the itinerary, the JFTC Commander also toured the Combat Training Centre (CTC) operating within JTEC,” the Defence Ministry added.
