National Forensic Bureau – Audio record of Kipiani-Okuashvili conversation is not authentic
The Georgian Chief Prosecutor’s Office released the information about the expertise conducted by Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau onto the audio recording of a conversation between Levan Kipiani, former sports minister and Zaza Okuashvili, founder and owner of Omega Group.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, an investigation into the audio recordings released through various media outlets was launched on September 12, 2018, taking into consideration high public interest.
“On October 4, National Forensic Bureau published the conclusion about the recordings and said that the recordings are not authentic and are produced through editing method.
There are many traces of digital and linear editing in them as well as changes of background sound incompatible to the situation.
Disruption of words and phrases and inconsistency in content are detected in the material. The investigation into the case continues,” Prosecutor’s Office said in the information.
