A mudslide triggered by heavy rainfall has inflicted significant damage on houses and yards in the village of Shoka, Adigeni municipality. The disaster has impacted four families in the area.
According to a journalist from the Georgian Public Broadcaster First Channel reporting from the scene, a torrent of stones and sand that cascaded down the mountainside completely destroyed two houses, while two others sustained severe damage.
Emergency response teams are already on site, actively conducting cleanup operations. A special commission has been established to assess the extent of the damage caused by the heavy rain, and geologists are evaluating ongoing risks.
The families affected by the disaster have been safely evacuated to secure locations, ensuring their safety amidst the ongoing recovery efforts.
