MPs to visit N18 prison infirmary
Georgian lawmakers Mikheil Sarjveladze, Davit Sergeenko and Dimitri Khundadze will visit the Gldani N18 prison infirmary.
Dimitri Khundadze, Chairman of the parliamentary Health Committee told reporters that they would speak to the medical personnel who are directly involved in ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili’s health protection.
“This visit will allow us to provide more objective information. Due to high public interest, we will introduce you to that information. We are entering the prison infirmary to exclude the political component and we believe we will manage that.
There is no need to visit Mikheil Saakashvili at this stage. It is important to get introduced to his medical record that will create a real impression. We will also see the possibilities that are available and needed to provide this patient with medical aid,” Khundadze said.
Jailed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili has been on a hunger strike since October 1.
