MP Volski: Our extremist opponents seek to destroy Georgia and engage in confrontation with Russia
“Our opponents, who have transformed into extremist factions, aim to destroy Georgia and participate in a process driven by confrontation with Russia,” stated MP Gia Volski, the First Vice-Speaker of Parliament.
According to Volski, a significant portion of society perceives this as a grave threat to Georgia’s future.
“When a revolutionary process is planned in any country, Georgia, in this distinctive case, there are specific issues outlined within a detailed action plan. This plan is insidious because it directly concerns the interests of Georgian society. One of its main mechanisms is the pursuit of a confrontational policy toward Russia, a tactic employed since 2012. Despite this, they have failed to destabilise Georgia with this approach. Now, they’ve added accusations of election fraud, unverified but exploited to create chaos. A completely different scenario has been crafted, sacrificing their own puppets to fuel instability. They opposed a law that, although not adopted by Georgian Dream, has long existed in Georgia, with several individuals facing imprisonment.
Their goal is to escalate this situation, ultimately leading to a ‘Ukrainization’ of Georgia. This plan is so transparent that neither the opposition nor the parliamentary majority supporters doubt its existence. A specific policy has been shaped: our opponents, now extremist groups, seek to destroy Georgia and engage in confrontation with Russia. A large part of society views this as a direct threat to Georgia’s future and our families. With elections approaching, these votes will once again serve as a decisive indicator of which side is truly right,” Volski emphasised.
