MP Tsilosani positive about Georgia's role in free trade zones' creation
Agrarian Issues Committee Chair Nino Tsilosani assessed the Georgian delegation’s meeting with Chen Jing, the Deputy Chairman of the Shanghai Council.
Nino Tsilosani said the gained experience is crucial for Georgia, which can play a positive role in the free trade zone creation.
“Shanghai, one of China’s major centres and highly developed geographical areas, stands out with significant projects such as the Lin-gang Special Area as the Pilot Free Trade Zone. The experience we gained and the presentation are very interesting in our country’s case. At the meeting, we spoke about the positive role, which Georgia can play in the creation of free trade zones.
It is the proposal of a special tax system for employees, in particular, setting special benefits in terms of attracting young brains, the arrangement of infrastructure and attracting interest from various industries, for such areas to develop properly and have a leading role in the development of the country’s economy,” she said.
Chaired by the GD Chair Irakli Kobakhidze, the Georgian delegation pays a visit to China and holds meetings in Beijing and Shanghai. The delegation comprises First Vice Speaker Giorgi Volski, Vice-Speaker Irakli Chikovani, Foreign Relations Committee Chair Nikoloz Samkharadze, Branch Economy and Economic Policy Committee Chair Davit Songhulashvili, Agrarian Issues Committee chair Nino Tsilosani, and First Deputy Chair of the Sports Committee Viktor Sanikidze.
