MP Tsilosani addressed Conference of Speakers of EU Member State Parliaments
The Conference of the Speakers of the Parliaments of the EU Member States has concluded in Spain, convened by the EU Council Presidency Trio, the Georgian Parliament reported.
The Vice Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Nino Tsilosani, and the Chair of the European Integration Committee, Maka Botchorishvili, represented Georgia at the event.
“During her speech, Tsilosani emphasized Georgia’s democratic progress and European integration achievements. She underscored the importance of the EU enlargement policy and called for the start of accession negotiations for Georgia.
The conference concluded with the adoption of a declaration that acknowledges Georgia’s status as a candidate for EU membership and outlines priorities for future collaboration among EU countries.
The Conference of the Speakers of the Parliaments of the EU Member States is an annual platform for the speakers of the parliaments of EU member states, the president of the European Parliament, and the speakers of the parliaments of candidate countries.
The event aims to support the role of parliaments, encourage collective action, and promote inter-parliamentary cooperation,” the Parliament stated.
