MP Tengiz Sharmanashvili: Opposition is stillborn union, set on self-destruction
“The opposition is a stillborn union; it is impossible to unite incompatible people and expect them to accomplish anything together,” said MP Tengiz Sharmanashvili, a member of the parliamentary majority.
According to him, these individuals are fundamentally committed to destruction.
“They cannot even engage in dialogue with each other, let alone with the public or their opponents. They were part of the previous government because the management was conducted in an authoritarian manner, and they dared not speak out. But now that this factor has disappeared, we see just how incompatible and destructive they truly are. It appears that people with this destructive mindset were deliberately gathered. There is a struggle among them over who will secure the grants that even Marta Kos promised to allocate. They are trying to portray themselves as the true leaders, claiming they will fulfil the demands, and insisting that the money should be spent on them. They are showing their true colours to their foreign backers: either one is the main opposition force, or the other. Don’t expect higher motives from them; their motivation has been reduced to the ground. I will not address them again; it serves no purpose. Instead, I advise their backers not to waste their money on such figures. It would be far better to invest these funds in environmental protection or youth initiatives. We will remain grateful,” said Tengiz Sharmanashvili.
