MP Tea Tsulukiani files defamation lawsuit against Nanuka Zhorzholiani
Parliamentary majority member and temporary investigative commission chair, MP Tea Tsulukiani, announced that her family has filed a defamation lawsuit against Nanuka Zhorzholiani, an opposition figure and head of Nanuka’s Fund.
In a social media post, Tsulukiani stated that her family decided to take legal action after what she described as repeated false accusations.
The lawsuit stems from Zhorzholiani’s publication of a list titled “People killed by Tsulukiani’s father,” which allegedly contains the names of 20 individuals. Tsulukiani disputes the accuracy of these claims, stating that documents show 15 of the listed persons are still alive, while others died after her father had already retired or after Georgia abolished the death penalty.
In her statement, Tsulukiani states that her father, Avtandil Tsulukiani, was a judge who retired from the judicial system in 2000. She also says that her 82-year-old mother, along with her brother and nephew, are listed as co-plaintiffs in the defamation case. Tsulukiani concluded her statement by saying the family would no longer tolerate such accusations.
