MP: State will not allow overthrow, peaceful or otherwise
“The state stands firmly and will not allow anyone to attempt its overthrow, either peacefully or by force,” Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze stated in response to a journalist’s question regarding the recent statements of the opposition leaders Paata Burchuladze and Levan Khabeishvili about a so-called “peaceful overthrow.”
“Once again, this shows the face of the radical opposition. For years, they have constantly spoken about overthrow and revolution. This alone shows their spirit and attitude. This is how foreign agents act. Naturally, the state stands firm and will not allow anyone to attempt an overthrow, either peacefully or non-peacefully. Just as we have promised the public over the years—and kept that promise—we promise the same now and will definitely keep it,” Kobakhidze said.
