MP Shalamberidze: No amount of money can justify single human life, ately, during previous government’s rule, human lives were measured in financial terms

“It is regrettable that the United National Movement was once in power. There are numerous confirmed facts showing how much human life was valued by them during that period,” Georgian Dream member Zviad Shalamberidze said.

Shalamberidze responded to remarks by Nika Gvaramia, one of the leaders of the Opposition Alliance, who said that Ukraine would soon win the war and that trillions of dollars would be spent on rebuilding the country over the next decade, while Georgia would not be allowed to benefit from those opportunities.

“Such rhetoric continues from the leaders of their party. Fortunately, Georgian society evaluates their statements properly and each time assigns these people the place they deserve on the political sidelines,” Shalamberidze said.

According to him, Gvaramia is attempting to manipulate public opinion by suggesting that if Georgia had joined the war against Russia, billions and trillions of dollars would have entered the country.

“No amount of money can justify a single human life. Unfortunately, during the previous government’s rule, human lives were measured precisely in financial terms,” Shalamberidze stated.
