MP Samnidze: Georgia to receive EU candidate status, not any political party

“Whatever party is in power, we must do all within our capacity to implement the EC’s 12 recommendations,” Khatuna Samnidze, an opposition MP, told the GPB First Channel.

“The country receives the EU candidate status, not any political party,” she remarked.

The lawmaker elaborated on a belief that the ruling Georgian Dream does not quite fulfil the recommendations, and it might unfairly benefit from it if Georgia is granted a candidate status.
