MP Samkharadze: Georgia to raise concerns over country information on German Foreign Ministry website at today’s meeting
According to Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Georgian parliamentary delegation will hold a meeting with a representative of the German Foreign Ministry during its visit to the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Turkey.
Samkharadze said that during the meeting, the delegation will raise the issue of outdated information about Georgia on the German Foreign Ministry’s website.
In particular, he noted that the website still refers to Salome Zourabichvili as the President of Georgia, even though similar information has already been updated in the case of other countries, such as Syria.
“We will have a meeting today in Parliament, including with a high-ranking official from the German Foreign Ministry, and we will raise this issue again. As you know, the Georgian Foreign Ministry has already sent a diplomatic note, and it will be interesting to see their response.
It takes only 30 seconds to update information on a website, so I do not believe this is a technical issue. I hope the representative of the German Foreign Ministry will provide an explanation,” Samkharadze said.
