MP Matikashvili: Partskhaladze’s presence in Russia complicates extradition process

According to Davit Matikashvili, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Procedural Issues, it is crucial to bring the murder case of businessman Levan Jangveladze to a full conclusion.

Matikashvili emphasized that all perpetrators must be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

“The statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs shows that the horrific murder that shook Tbilisi and all of Georgia has been practically solved. The organizers and perpetrators behind this crime have been identified, lifting the veil on this tragedy. Some have already been brought to justice, while others have left Georgia. According to our information, Otar Partskhaladze is in Russia, with which we do not have diplomatic relations, making extradition difficult. It is essential that the investigation is fully concluded and that all perpetrators are held accountable under the law,” said Matikashvili.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has named former Prosecutor General of Georgia Otar Partskhaladze as the organizer of Jangveladze’s murder and announced that the case has been fully resolved.
