MP Matikashvili: Main thing is not what EPP demands from Europe, but what Georgian people demand
“The European People’s Party (EPP) is composed of friends of Saakashvili and his sadistic regime, so what else can they demand from the EU regarding Georgia?” Davit Matikashvili, chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Procedural Issues Committee, said.
According to Matikashvili, “for them, the truth is not the truth.”
“They always look for reality where it does not exist. Based on Saakashvili’s and the agents’ agenda, they are trying to throw a lifeline to the United National Movement. This is not something that started today or yesterday. Therefore, the main question is not what the European People’s Party is demanding from Europe, but what the Georgian people are demanding,” Matikashvili said.
The comments follow the adoption of an EPP resolution titled ‘Authoritarian Decline in Georgia’, which called on the European Union to “step up targeted sanctions and other restrictive measures against individuals responsible for political repression in Georgia.”
