MP Makhashvili: Only result of Gakharia’s party entering parliament will be higher electricity bills

“Giorgi Gakharia’s party has acknowledged that its political decisions were a mistake. Therefore, after admitting this, the only thing the public expects from them is an apology — an apology for stirring up the country with a radical agenda all this time and for missing the chance to support normal development,” said Levan Makhashvili, Chairman of the Parliament’s European Integration Committee.

According to Makhashvili, the entry of Gakharia’s party into parliament will not change anything.

“What will change for parliament? The only thing that might change is the electricity bill, since additional rooms will now have to be allocated to them — and this is only half a joke. Seriously, probably nothing. If they continue the same frivolous agenda they were doing outside parliament, then nothing will change. Let’s see whether they intend to make any serious contribution, which I doubt. The public once gave them a chance to participate in political discussions. They failed to do so for an entire year, and we will see what happens next year,” Makhashvili said.
