MP Machavariani: Ukrainian government shows ‘no respect for Georgia’ with Adeishvili appointment

The appointment of Zurab Adeishvili to this position demonstrates a lack of respect toward Georgian citizens, said a member of the Georgian Dream, Levan Machavariani, in a comment to the GPB First Channel, referring to the Ukrainian government.

According to Machavariani, the decision reflects the nature of those who made it.

“A person’s past does not seem to matter to them, and this reflects what I would describe as an immoral approach. This fact is regrettable. We have seen similar appointments before — including cases involving associates of Vano Merabishvili, as well as Mikheil Saakashvili, whom we consider a declared criminal. This is precisely why we have so many complaints against the Ukrainian government,” he stated.

Georgia’s former Prosecutor General and Minister of Justice, Zurab Adeishvili, was appointed Director of the Department of International Police Cooperation in Ukraine.
