MP Kavelashvili doubts whether U.S. Ambassador attended Ackerman's meeting

A former ruling Georgian Dream MP, currently a member of the People’s Power, Mikheil Kavelashvili, on Friday said, “since U.S. Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan is shielding the radical opposition and the NGOs, I doubt whether she attended [political consultant] Peter Ackerman’s meeting [with the opposition in Bakuriani], where the June processes have been planned.”

MP Kavelashvili claims, “the U.S. Ambassador’s answers and the radical opposition’s actions are so much coupled that this is no longer a double standard.”

“She backed NGOs and the radical opposition, mentioned Gavrilov’s night, and deemed the parallel vote counting a minor error. We will not stop; we are consistent. We had a great deal of information offstage that the danger to Georgia persists,” Kavelashvili stated.

The People’s Power movement believes the Bakuriani meeting between the United National Movement, NGOs, and “a famous American revolution specialist,” Peter Ackerman aimed to “trigger the revolution in Georgia, change the Government, or replace the authority with the persons directly responsible for numerous crimes committed in 2004-2012.”
