MP Gorduladze calls Moscow Mechanism conclusion 'absolutely unfounded': 24 countries back report, 32, including US and France, do not support

Archil Gorduladze, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs, stated that the conclusion of the OSCE Moscow Mechanism is supported by 24 countries, while 32 countries, including France and the United States, do not support it.

According to Gorduladze, the number of supporting or non-supporting countries does not matter because the conclusion itself is “absolutely unfounded.”

“To put it mildly, this conclusion is presented with controversial issues. Such issues are presented as confirmed facts that do not physically exist, for example, alleged poisoning cases. An investigation has been conducted on this matter, and the truth has been established. If anyone has questions, they can contact the security service and will be given access to the relevant materials. But the main focus is not establishing the truth; the main focus is propaganda that the collective National Movement has built,” Gorduladze said.

For reference, the OSCE has published a report on Georgia prepared under the Moscow Mechanism, which reviews developments in the country since spring 2024 regarding human rights and fundamental freedoms and includes a set of recommendations. Twenty-four participating states of the OSCE issued a joint statement calling on Georgia to fully implement the recommendations contained in the OSCE report.
