MP Gorduladze accuses opposition of attempting to revive 'systemic crimes'; perpetrators of street violence cannot lecture us

“The perpetrators of violence and those who had hundreds of people shot in the streets dare to speak of systemic crimes,” stated MP Archil Gorduladze, Chairman of the Parliamentary Legal Issues Committee.

According to him, during the review of the Girgvliani case, the Strasbourg Court explicitly stated that the judiciary was astonished by how harmoniously the prosecution, parliament, president, and courts acted in unison to try and exonerate the criminals.

“This was precisely the systemic crime that the United National Movement had established. Now, this is exactly what they want to bring back. These people dare to speak about human rights. Just as Megis Kardava can never become a human rights defender, these people can never become true politicians either.

Regarding the crime, the law will be firm with all perpetrators, regardless of who they are or their official position, and appropriate measures will be taken accordingly. Of course, we thank the police officers who stand guard over our country, but appropriate legal measures will be taken instantly against anyone who disgraces the uniform and commits a crime,” Archil Gorduladze stated.
