MP Davit Usupashvili sees early elections under coalition rule to be political solution to crisis

There is no judicial way out of the current crisis. The political solution could be early elections under the coalition rule, said MP Davit Usupashvili.

According to Usupashvili, the ruling party’s policy against opponents and former officials is just the same as the return of the former UNM authorities in power. The ongoing process is accompanied by hatred, confrontation.

“The process went beyond the red lines. We are on the minefield, the leaders of the former and current governments are trying to make the processes go in a way to blow up another. The problem is that if any of them explode, the country will be the main victim,” Usupashvili said.

Usupashvili believes that ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili has the right to a fair court. However, “a fair trial will not be possible if no fair elections are held or government and parliament are mobilized to pacify the country,” Usupashvili claimed.
