Maka Bochorishvili, the chair of the Parliament’s European Integration Committee, emphasized that the opposition’s claims that the county has done nothing to fulfil the recommendations for Georgia’s EU candidate status damage the process.
“Everyone can monitor the progress made in parliament,” she added.
Bochorishvili also stressed the significance of Josep Borrell’s visit to Georgia.
“This visit demonstrates the EU’s support for Georgia and provides an opportunity to meet with a high-ranking official responsible for EU foreign and security policy and discuss challenges, relations, and expectations regarding the candidate’s status. It’s vital to know the EU’s stance on enlargement and set appropriate expectations,” she said.
