Movement limited at Sarphi checkpoint due to collapse of rock

Movement has been limited due to collapse of part of the rock on the Turkish side at Sarphi Georgia-Turkey state border checkpoint. The rock collapsed as a result of hit landslide. According to Ministry of Internal Affairs, the road connecting Sarphi-Trabzon is closed.

“Due to security measures, at request of Turkey and upon decision of relevant agencies of both countries, movement of traffic and pedestrians is temporarily limited. Movement will be restored as soon as the road is cleaned,” reads the statement of MIA.
