Mitropolitan Ilarioni: Today’s meeting of Holy Synod reviewed organizational issues

Mitropolitan Ilarioni of Mestia and Zemo Svaneti said that today’s Holy Synod meeting held at the Patriarchate reviewed procedural and organizational issues.

Following the meeting, he told reporters that the Holy Synod agreed on some issues but would continue discussion on other issues at the next meeting, which will also select patriarchal candidates.

“A decision was made at the Synod session regarding procedural and organizational issues. Organizational issues will be discussed at the next meeting, and then the candidates will be selected. Making amendments to the regulations on administration and management is the prerogative of the extended meeting when a new Patriarch will be elected,” he said.
