Minor arrested in Tbilisi on murder charges

Officers of the Tbilisi Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested a minor on charges of intentional murder following a police operation conducted immediately after the crime, the ministry said.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the investigation established that on September 10, in Tbilisi, the suspect wounded another minor several times with a bladed weapon following a verbal altercation and then fled the scene. The victim died at the scene from the injuries sustained.

“Following operational and investigative measures, law enforcement officers arrested the person accused of the crime immediately after the incident. The investigation is being conducted under Article 108 of the Criminal Code, which carries a prison sentence of up to 15 years,” the ministry said.
